Welcome to the

Screen Directors Lab

Screen Directors Lab is a group of film directors who meet regularly to

practice  and improve their skills at communicating and working with actors.

Directors stage scenes and receive feedback from both directors and actors

in the group, in a moderated discussion. Actors performing in the scenes are

invited to give feedback to the director on the techniques used in the

rehearsal process. The workshop is focused on critique of the director,  so

actors' analyses are critical to the process.

Every director has studied with Adrienne Weiss, a directing teacher and

coach based in New York, and practices the tools she offers in her Directing

Actors for Film Foundation Workshop.  Founded in 2005, the group meets twicea month at a performance space in Hollywood.
